A Nd:YAG beam goes along the surface of your skin twice, with the first pass giving the skin a short stimulus, while the second pass penetrates the tissue which in turn causes deep heating for a successful fractional treatment.
The Er:YAG laser removes the worn out and older skin which gets replaced with healthier, tighter new tissue as the new skin begins to form.
The Er:YAG beam finishes the procedure by removing any superficial imperfections. The final step involves skin ablation with a complete but light Er:YAG laser. It is the total elimination of your skin’s outermost layer. It assists in eliminating all outward flaws, such as wrinkles. This last phase aids in the development of new skin that is smoother and firmer. The process involves applying laser pulses to the skin. To do that, a novel handheld gadget designed by Fotona is employed. It produces skin that glows and looks fresh by giving control and accuracy while carefully caring for the treatment region.
There is minimal discomfort involved but for extra comfort we will apply topical numbing cream and cooling during the procedure. During the treatment, you will mostly feel applied heat and afterwards some irritation and dryness as the skin heals.
Firstly, the skin conditions being treated will affect the number of sessions required. If there is only superficial pigmentation and minimal signs of aging you may need only one session. If you have very loose or sagging skin and severe sun damage present then you may require further treatments. The second factor which will affect how many treatments you need is your skin and lifestyle needs. The treatment can be tailored to be more intense, or less intense, depending on how much downtime you are comfortable with. Our qualified laser practitioners will be able to give you an indication of how many sessions you’ll need when you have your initial consultation. Some patients have only needed one treatment, while others have needed two or three. An annual TwinLight treatment is an excellent approach to postpone further aging and sun damage.
The first result you will notice is once the initial dryness clears up, and irritation subsides you will see refreshed, glowing skin. To see the full results materialize, the average time is about 6 weeks and 6 months depending on the treatment intensity.
The majority of patients may resume their regular activities with minimal concern thanks to the TwinLight laser. There will be some surface level changes, but most of them can be concealed with a minimal makeup correction. We don’t suggest scheduling a TwinLight treatment during a week that also includes a big event because this “downtime” will take seven to ten days.
Leading up to two days after your treatment, you will likely experience dryness and possibly some inflammation. This is due to the blood vessels dilating and the white blood cells moving to the area to begin healing. After a few days leading up to a week it will mostly be dryness and flaking, cell migration and maturation will begin as the healing process starts to work. The last stage which usually appears after a week, is the protein production in the deeper layers of the skin, usually once the dryness has cleared.
Since this is a reparative and corrective treatment, it can vary depending on genetics and behavior after your treatment. We will normally recommend this treatment once a year for the upkeep of your results. Variables such as how much sun exposure you get, if you are wearing SPF, genetic disposition, can all play a part in the development of age related skin conditions. The more you can refrain from what would be considered “bad” for your skin, the longer you will maintain the same look from your Twinlight laser results.
